When the iPhone 4S was launched, Siri was one of the stand-out features. Yet, seeing as it was software based, we wondered why it never transitioned to the iPhone 4. After all, surely Apple could just release it as an iOS update, right? Well, it looks like there might be a better reason than that. According to CNET, Apple created a deal with a company called Audience to integrate their EarSmart technology on the iPhone 4S’ chip directly. EarSmart is the tech that allows Siri to distinguish your voice from a loud and chaotic background, and without it her performance is a lot more spotty.

Now that we can jailbreak the iPhone 4S, jailbreak developers can finally use Siri in their tweaks. One such tweak is Lingual which adds language translation to our favorite voice assistant. The tweak, available from the Big Boss repository in Cydia, lets you say "Siri, What is how are you in Spanish" and Siri will respond with "Cómo estás."
