Nike has finally put out Nike+ GPS, their running companion app that doesn’t require a Nike+ sensor strapped to your shoe. The great Shazam app, which I'm still using after downloading it to my iPhone on day one, has released another update, bringing the whole suite of apps (including the paid Shazam Encore and the Shazam (RED) version) to version 3.3. This one updates the app for iOS 4.0 and includes Retina Display graphics and support for fast app switching.

The iPhone Blog: Steve Jobs: iPod touch more popular than Nintendo DS and Sony PSP combined

Yesterday during Apple’s annual Special Music Event Steve Jobs announced that the iPod touch was more popular than both Nintendo’s DS and Sony’s PSP… combined. Jobs also said more than 1.5 games and entertainment apps have been downloaded by iPod touch devices to date.

The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW): Show Time may be the mother of all alarm clock apps

There's no shortage of apps to wake you up in the morning. Show Time may be the most extensive, and it has a wicked sense of humor as well.

The app handles multiple alarms and has 25 ambient noise selections to put you to sleep, or you can choose something from your iTunes collection. There are 58 versions of clock faces, all in horizontal or vertical layouts. The alarm clock goes off even if your phone is set to silent, and you can shake the clock to change the color of the display or to snooze the alarm.
